Venue: Yokohama, JAPAN
September 23 - 27, 2008
Aim & Scope:
The GARN was initiated by Drs. for Lipsky, Gay & Nishioka for establishing good,
direct communication between scientists, whether working in the same subject area or
in interdisciplinary research. The GARN promotes discussions and the free exchange of
ideas at the research frontiers of Rheumatology. Scientists with common professional
interests come together for a few days of intense discussion and examination of the most
advanced aspects of the field. This meeting provides a valuable means of disseminating
information and ideas in a way that cannot be achieved through the usual channels of
communication - publications and presentations at large scientific meetings.
The purpose of GARN is to promote and encourage communication and scientific
interactions and collaborations that facilitate the progress of basic and clinical research
in arthritis and related condition.
Over fifty younger, future leaders in the field of autoimmune diseases and
arthritis-related conditions will be selected by the staring committee and invited to
meet with senior leaders in molecular biology, immunology and rheumatology at
Yokohama. Two thousands and five hundreds US dollars (2500$) will be donated to
whom selected as speaker for travel fee. We (or GARN meeting committee) are pleased
to announce the nominations no later than 2008 April 14th and sent to the Secretary
General of the GARN Meeting.
