MEDICAL-EXPO 2008 in APLAR's World

APLAR2008 is pleased to announce that the Congress is now advertising applications for the following awards.
This Awards shall be a part of the APLAR international congress.
Please refer to the qualification criteria and application requirements below and note that, to apply for any APLAR2008 Award, Congress Registration and participation in APLAR2008 is mandatory.
(Multiple Award entries are permitted per individual).

Distinguished Clinical Investigators Award (JPY50,000 for 2 winners)

Distinguished Basic Investigators Award (JPY50,000 for 2 winners)

These awards will be presented to basic and clinical scientists who have made outstanding contributions in the field of rheumatology.

Qualification:
	Applicants must be members of APLAR* *Partner leagues members are also welcome to apply.
Requirements:
	Please submit the following documents *One copy of the applicant’s CV *A letter of nomination from a sponsoring individual *Two additional recommendations (letters of reference)
Final selection will be done by the APLAR2008 Organizing Committee.

APLAR 2008 Young Investigators Award (JPY50,000 for 10 winners)

Awarded to a young scientist, the ages under 40, who has made outstanding independent contributions to basic or clinical research in the field of rheumatology.

Qualification:
	Should be an APLAR member, aged under 40 at the time of the 2008 Congress. *Partner leagues members are also welcome to apply.
Requirements:
	Please submit the following documents *One copy of the applicant’s CV *A letter of nomination from a sponsoring individual *Two additional recommendations (letters of reference)
Final selection will be done by the APLAR2008 Organizing Committee.

APLAR Masters Award (JPY100,000 for 3 winners)

Recognition as a Master of APLAR is one of the highest honors the College bestows. The designation of Master is conferred on APLAR members, who have made outstanding contributions to the field of rheumatology through scholarly achievement and/or service to their patients, students, and profession.

Qualification:
	Should be an APLAR member and over the age of 65 at the time of the 2008 Congress. *Partner leagues members are also welcome to apply.
Requirements:
	Please submit the following documents
	*	A letter of recommendation from a member of the General Assembly Executive Committee (comprised of APLAR presidents).
	*	One copy of the applicant’s CV including a publications list
Final selection will be done by the APLAR2008 Executive Committee.

APLAR2008 Travel Grant (JPY100,000 for 10 winners)

Travel Grant Program offers travel assistance to presenting authors from overseas.

To Qualify:
	Presenting authors participating from overseas.
Requirements:
	Abstract No. for APLAR2008 is required. (ex. abst ××××) *Abstract number is given upon confirmation email.
Final selection will be done by the APLAR2008 Organizing Committee.
